Freedom Mobile $99 a Year Unlimited Talk + Text Review

It is no doubt that Freedom Mobile has become a spotlight during this year’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale. As the competition continues among Canadian carriers, Freedom Mobile has successfully drawn our eyes by launching a limited-time lava hot deal – a Freedom Mobile $99/year plan that includes unlimited Talk & Text and 50GB/year data (fast LTE). It’s also known as “By The Year 50GB + Talk Text” as they name it.

This is primarily a great deal for users who don’t consume a lot of data and live mainly in the major cities that is under Freedom’s network. With 99 bucks + tax, you can enjoy unlimited talk and text and roughly 4GB of monthly data. So far, we’ve found no carrier within Canada that can provide such a service exception Freedom, but definitely hope other competitors would catch up.

Freedom Mobile's Unlimited Talk & Text with 50GB/year for $99/year. detailed description of the planIf you don’t need any data, they have also provided another limited-time offer, which allows you to enjoy unlimited talk + text for $89/year. Note that the two plans mentioned above are FREEDOM NETWORK only. If you need their nationwide service, you need to pay $129/year which was $99 but now no longer exists. Anyways, I still consider this 99 By the Year plan to be a great plan and there have been even no other competitors that dare to offer this plan so far.

I’m living in downtown Toronto. So, there’s no issue with me using Freedom mobile’s plan. Same for users in Vancouver. But if you do or experience weaker reception in the suburb, I recommend using other carriers’ data plans as a backup. For instance, you might want to get a 5-dollar 5GB fido data-only plan, and in this way, your Freedom mobile Simcard can basically be used anywhere using their wifi-calling service with Fido’s data. I also heard some guys would pair Freedom’s plan with Bell’s data plan, and that’s not a bad idea! For frequent international travelers, 3HK’s traveler’s data plan would be a great companion to this Freedom plan as you can dial free calls and send free texts in more than 100 countries just in case you use 3HK’s data when you are abroad.

Lastly, don’t forget to use this link to get $25 service credit when you sign up for any plans. We both get their credits. Thanks!
